This is a leader album released in 1978 by George Lewis, a trombonist who played a central role in the Chicago jazz scene from the mid-1970s onwards, organized around Richard Abrams and consisting of members of the AACM in Chicago, USA. Each of the four tracks has a different structure, with strong figures from the AACM connection such as Douglas Ewart, Leroy Jenkins (violin), Anthony Davis (piano), Muhal Richard Abrams (piano), and Roscoe Mitchell (saxophone) participating. Starting with B1, where the lead instrument wriggles like animal cries along with trippy electronic sounds and metallic percussion, this album unfolds experimental free jazz reminiscent of the Art Ensemble of Chicago and Anthony Braxton throughout, making it an intense piece. However, what makes it outstanding is its highly organic and naturally regressive sensibility.

B1: Cycle
B2: Shadowgraph,5 (Sextet)
