Geri Allen is an American pianist who has played in groups with Oliver Lake, Dewey Redman, Steve Coleman, and David Murray, and also played on John Stubblefield's 1986 album "Bushman Song" for Enja and David Friedman's 1986 album "Shades of Change. The album was released in 1989, and is a good example of new style contemporary jazz with synthesizers and a percussive rhythm section that is light but glossy. The clear sound quality unique to this era is also highly appreciated.
