First solo album by American bassist Glen Moore, released in 1979. Best known as a founding member of Oregon — formed in 1971 with Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless, and Collin Walcott — Moore also left behind a string of superb recordings on ECM and JAPO through his duo work with Towner and Larry Karush. This album features David Darling on cello, Jan Hammer on drums, and Zbigniew Seifert on violin. Moore’s gifts as a bassist are well established, but his talent as a pianist is just as striking here, moving effortlessly from contemporary solo passages on bass and piano with clear roots in classical and modern composition to more aggressive fusion workouts, all delivered alongside an exceptional group of players. The deep, immersive soundscapes shaped together with Darling’s cello are especially stunning.
