This album was released in 1965 by Grant Green, an American jazz guitarist who released his first leader album on the prestigious Blune Note label in 1961 and died in 1979 at the age of 43. The album was released in 1965. As the name "King Funk" implies, the funky jazz of A1 and the groovy B1 with Candido's Latin percussion and Larry Young's organ are great, but I personally recommend the less intense bluesy jazz of A2. Promo release in Japan in 1977.

A2: Willow Weep for Me
B1: The Cantaloupe Woman
