A 12-inch single featuring remixes and re-edits of recordings left behind by Harry Roesli, one of Indonesia’s most iconic musicians, who boldly pursued a protest-driven musical stance during the politically turbulent 1970s. Contributing from Japan are Kaoru Inoue and DJ Chida, while from Indonesia come Midnight Runners—renowned for their disco re-edits—and Komodo. Leading the set is Kaoru Inoue’s A2, which brilliantly reconstructs Roesli’s highly original blend of gamelan, regional Indonesian folk traditions, and Western elements such as psychedelic rock, progressive rock, and funk with exquisite balance. Midnight Runners’ B1 elevates the sound into cosmic dance music, while Chida’s B2 channels a psychedelic edge into a floor-ready groove before transitioning into a mellow psych-rock finale. A stellar release from beginning to end—highly recommended. Comes complete with an A4 poster and a mirror ball repair part.
