An album released in 1958 by the American pianist Horace Silver, who gained prominence in the early 1950s through sessions with Art Blakey and became well-known as a representative figure of funky jazz. This album, released on Blue Note, features a quintet with Art Farmer (trumpet), Cliff Jordan (tenor saxophone), Teddy Kotick (bass), and Louis Hayes (drums). The tracks include the lively groove of A1, accompanied by Afro-Cuban rhythms, the pleasant ballad A2 with the melancholic melody of the piano and brushed snare, and the impressive B1 featuring the trumpet's expressive play. The entire album showcases a relaxed atmosphere, presenting an adult-oriented hard bop style throughout. This work was reissued domestically in 1994 as part of Toshiba EMI's 'Blue Note LP 1500 Collection' series.
