This was introduced in the guidebook "obscure sound". The shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto, who has made great achievements not only in the classical arts but also in contemporary activities, recorded this masterpiece live at the Cathedral of Mary in Tokyo with Norio Maeda (piano), Yasuo Arakawa (b) and Takeshi Inomata (dr) in 1976. This is a full-length improvisation work, with an introduction that has a unique Japanese feeling of floating and pauses, inherited from the classics, and a slow and rapid development that brings various scenes to mind. The exquisite reverberation of the church's architecture is also vividly recorded, creating a sound world like an ink painting. Every moment is wonderful, but first listen to the following parts.
A: 竹の組曲 インプロヴィゼイション その1
B: 竹の組曲 インプロヴィゼイション その2
