This album was released in 1966 as part of the Electronic Music series launched by the American Turnabout label in 1965. The album was originally released in Japan in 1969 as part of the "Vox Encore Series: The Best of Contemporary Music - 4", which included John Cage's "Fontana Mix", Luciano Berio's "Visage" and Ilhan Mimaroglu's "Agony". The "Fontana Mix" by Cage on A1 is an electronic concoction made only with magnetic tape. A2 is an electroacoustic deconstruction and reconstruction of a poetry reading, produced at the Electronic Music Studio of the Italian Broadcasting Corporation in Milan, founded by Berio. Druckman's "Animus 1", which is included in side B, is experimental music for trombone and tape, composed at the Princeton Electronic Music Center in Columbia, USA. Both are historic pieces of experimental electronic music from the 1960s.
