An album released in 1982 by Jan Akkerman, the former Brainbox and Focus member and widely regarded as one of the world’s most technically accomplished guitarists. The lineup features some of Denmark’s finest musicians straddling the worlds of rock and jazz, including keyboardist Kenneth Knudsen—introduced in the OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION guidebook for his 1985 masterpiece Knudsen Variations / Tariqat – Music for the New Danish Dance Theatre—along with drummer Ole Theill, who also appeared on that recording. Despite the rather dated artwork, this is a genuine gem: bluesy, hard-rocking guitar work from Akkerman intertwined with Knudsen’s cosmic synthesizer textures, resulting in several standout tracks. Recommended.
