This is a solo album released in 1987 by Jan Akkerman, former member of Brainbox and Focus, and one of the world’s top virtuoso guitarists. The album features contributions from Jasper Van't Hof (keys), Joachim Kuhn (keys), and others. The album offers a refined sound throughout, ranging from mellow Balearic tracks like A3, with an AOR feel, where delicate melodies are woven by a transparent acoustic guitar solo over gentle, expansive pad synths, to beautiful contemporary jazz reminiscent of ECM, as heard on B1. It’s a masterpiece that showcases this sophisticated side of Jan Akkerman, deserving of recognition. A truly relaxing and highly recommended listen.
