This was introduced in the first edition of the guidebook "obscure sound". This is the debut album released by American drummer Jim Brock in 1985 on a private label, known for his sessions with many top artists including Joe Cocker and Janis Ian, and revered as an innovator in the drum/percussion world. The album unfolds with an ethnic intro on the berimbau played by Jim Brock himself in track A1, followed by a cool groove in A2 with bright acoustic piano and soprano saxophone dancing along Latin percussion rhythms. Track A3 offers a pleasant blend of soft flute solos, warm percussion sounds, and the refreshing pads of digital synthesizers. Throughout the album, there's a beautiful contemporary jazz infused with ethnic elements yet filled with urban sensibilities, highlighted by the mysterious floating sensation reminiscent of Jon Hassell on the title track B2. Despite being entirely underrated, it's a truly fantastic piece of work, so be sure to check it out. Highly recommended.

A4: Come Back as a Flower
B2: Pasajes
B3: Reunion
