This 1979 album features the acclaimed American saxophonist Joe Farrell, who gained recognition for his contributions to Chick Corea's masterpiece "Return to Forever," released on ECM in 1972. Farrell later showcased his talents as a member of the group of the same name formed by Corea. The album includes performances by Chick Corea (piano, electric piano), Bob Magnusson (bass), and Lawrence Marable (drums), forming a quartet. Diverging from the fusion style heard in collaborations with George Benson or in projects like The Jeff Lorber Fusion and Farrell's album "Night Dancing," this release stands out for its exploration of typical bebop and hard bop. The album features excellent performances, with standout tracks including A2, where Farrell delivers a refreshing solo accompanied by Corea's electric piano, incorporating rhythms inspired by Brazil. Another highlight is B3, a lively and swinging piece where Corea's electric piano and Farrell's saxophone unite in unison. This is the initial domestic release, which came out in the same year as the US version.
A2: Cliche Romance
B3: Bara-Bara
