John Kaizan Neptune, an American shakuhachi player who came to Japan in the early 70's to study shakuhachi after encountering shakuhachi in his study of ethnic music, and was certified as a master of the Tozan style in 1977, performed with the Japanese brass jazz funk group Arakawa Band on this album released in 1980. The backing tracks, such as thrilling jazz funk like the soundtracks of American cop movies and black movies, are the quintessence of the Arakawa Band. It's a unique type of crossover jazz that you can enjoy.
