This is the first solo album by German guitarist John Schroder, who was also active in Klaus Weiss's group, released in 1982. A completely self-produced work, Schroder performs all instruments—acoustic and electric guitars, piano, bass, and drums—through meticulous multi-track recording. The album radiates an incredible strength, with tracks like the New Age Jazz piece on A2, where delicate and beautiful melodies burst with concentrated energy, and the deep spiritual jazz on B2, where each part gracefully dances within a richly reverberant soundscape. The work exudes the transparency and sentimentality reminiscent of Pat Metheny, Bill Connors, and Nordic ECM artists. Highly recommended.
A2: Terra Nostra
B2: Fantasy Farm
