An American jazz singer, Jon Hendricks, who had a long and successful career since the early 1950s, released this masterpiece album in 1975. It features moody covers of John Coltrane's classic on track A2, a boogie-woogie number composed by Hubert Laws on track A3, and Hendricks' own original score on track B1. The entire album showcases groovy performances with exceptional arrangements in soul jazz, jazz funk, and blues jazz, all accompanied by Hendricks' richly expressive vocals. Track B3, a cover of a Les McCann classic known as a club jazz classic, is also outstanding. This reissue was released by Ultravibe in 2003.
