This was introduced in the guidebook Obscure Sound Revised Edition. It is the second album by Spanish reed player Jorge Pardo, released in 1983. A number of renowned Spanish musicians participated in the album, including world-famous flamenco guitarist Paco De Lucía and drummer Carlos Carli, who also played on Augstin Pereyra’s 1976 release. Rich with elements of traditional Spanish music such as flamenco and gypsy styles, the album distills these influences into a cool, breezy crossover jazz sound. Every track is outstanding, but highlights include the deeply emotional flamenco fusion of track A4, and track B3, which features the striking flamenco vocals of De Lucía.
A4: Al Doblar la Esquina
B3: Por El Mar
