This is a double album released in 1976 by the American pianist Keith Jarrett, known for creating historical masterpieces like "Solo Concert" and "The Köln Concert" in his twenties, which brought him worldwide acclaim. This monumental work features improvisations performed using a Baroque-era pipe organ located in the Benedictine monastery of Ottobeuren in the Allgäu region of Bavaria, Germany. Titled "Hymn of Praise," the composition consists of nine lengthy movements titled "Spheres," unfolding between an introductory and concluding section. Amidst Christian musical motifs and sounds, the ethereal melodies resembling drones intermittently emerge, leaving a profound impression. This piece can be considered religious music reflecting Jarrett's philosophical outlook, transcending the boundaries of jazz and contemporary music.
