This is the 1979 debut album by Kilimanjaro, an American jazz group from Vermont consisting of Paul Asbell (guitar), Bill Kinzie (drums, percussion), Tony Markellis (bass), and Chas Eller (keys), who were active from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. Centered around guitar and a percussive rhythm section infused with Afro/Latin sensibilities, the album integrates instruments like the Polymoog, Arp 2600 synthesizer, and electric piano. From technically intricate progressive fusion to acoustic ensembles and even slow numbers with a New Age flavor, the album showcases a consistently refreshing and transparent sound.
