This is the original soundtrack album for the 1986 film "The Night with Silena," directed by Dimitris Panayiotatos, with music by Greek composer Kyriakos Sfetsas. Sfetsas studied under Xenakis and Henri Dutilleux, and after starting his professional music career, he worked on numerous projects, including directing orchestras and composing film soundtracks, leaving behind the experimental music masterpiece "Smog" in 1974. The album features musicians active in the Greek music scene, including Nikos Touliatos (ds, per), who also participated in works by Vangelis Katatoulis, the prominent figure in Greek ambient electronics. Throughout the album, an urban and moody atmosphere evokes a drowsy night city, unfolding into deeply sophisticated contemporary jazz/progressive fusion. It contains many excellent tracks.
