This album was released in 1983 by L. Subramaniam, an Indian violinist/composer from Chennai, South India, who has collaborated with many jazz musicians such as Stu Goldberg, Larry Coryell, and Stephane Grappeli. Subramaniam has collaborated with many musicians in the jazz world, including Tom Scott, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Larry Coryell, and Jorge Stuntz, and on the first track, he plays a reggae-infused groove with Japanese musicians such as Tatsuji Yokoyama. The album also features a number of crossover/fusion tracks that sublimate Indian classical music in a progressive and funky way.
