The album was released in 1984 by Laurie Anderson, an American composer/performer who has been active since the mid-1970s and has recently collaborated with the Kronos Quartet, a group of musicians known for their work with Steve Reich. The album features a wide range of artists including Adrian Belew, Peter Gabriel, Bill Laswell, Daniel Ponce, Nile Rogers, and many others who are active in various fields beyond the boundaries of genre. It is a masterpiece of fantastic experimental pop with a storyline and extensive use of electronics. The whole album is one of the best, but I highly recommend A2 with its fantastic synthesizer phrases and effective poetry, and B1 with its impressive Japanese vocals by Japanese artist Atsuko Yuma.
A1: Sharkey’s DayA2: Langue D’Amour
B1: Kokoku
