Formed in 1962 in Strasbourg, a city facing the Rhine River in northeastern France, Les Percussions de Strasbourg is a percussion ensemble that has continued its activities for 60 years, leaving behind numerous classic albums. This album, released in 1967, is from the "Prospective 21° siecle" series, featuring striking artwork with silver print and black typography. It includes the peculiar poetry reading "Epervier de te Faiblesse" by the Slovenian composer Milan Stibilj, the composition "Alternances" by the Japanese composer Shinohara Makoto, which is filled with a unique sense of floating intervals, and "Signalement" by the Dutch composer Peter Schat, a major work lasting 20 minutes. This is a domestic release from 1976.
