Recorded in 1967 by Les Percussions de Strasbourg, formed in 1962 in Strasbourg, a city on the Rhine in north-eastern France, where they have been active for 60 years and have produced a number of classic albums. This is the Japanese edition released in 1978 on Philips' Audio Clinic series, which does not include Peter Schat's 'Signalement', which appeared on the original release, but includes Milan Stibilj's 'Epervier de ta Faiblesse, Domine', composed by Milan Stibilj, and 'Alternances', composed by Makoto Shinohara, are lavishly included, each using one side in a very fine cutting. Both pieces are breathtaking performances, with the tranquil spatiality of the first half and the dramatic development of the second half.
