Released in 1974, this album by Lincoln Mayorga—a pianist, conductor, and composer active since the early 1960s and known for his versatility across classical, jazz, and rock—showcases his refined musicianship and rich arrangements. Co-produced with Douglas Sax, founder of Sheffield Lab in Santa Barbara, California—pioneers of direct-disc recording technology—the album was recorded direct-to-disc, capturing the performance with exceptional clarity and presence. Featuring covers of well-known songs ranging from hits by Paul McCartney & Wings and Stevie Wonder to film music by Michel Legrand and Leonard Bernstein, the record offers a dynamic, full-bodied sound shaped by sophisticated arrangements. This title was produced with meticulous attention to quality and exists in several variations; the edition presented here is the German pressing, which uses takes 5 and 6.
