This is the debut album released in 1971 by British singer-songwriter Linda Lewis, who gained popularity with her fairy-like voice and also worked as a backing vocalist for many artists, including David Bowie, Al Kooper, and Cat Stevens. In the 1990s, she was rediscovered in Japan during the rare groove/free soul movement, where her groovy tracks were highlighted. However, this album features a delightful mix of folk, soul, and R&B, with medium-tempo tracks and slow numbers enhanced by classical string ensembles and Latin elements. You can fully enjoy Lewis's charming vocals, reputed to span five octaves. A classic album indeed. Original UK pressing.
