Mandingo Griot Society is an Afro-jazz-funk band from Chicago, consisting of West African musician Jali Foday Musa Suso (whose first album released in 1978 with Don Cherry was also very good), Adam Rudolph (who is also a central figure of the ethnic jazz group Eternal Wind), Joseph Thomas, and Hank Drake. This album was released in 1981 by the Mandingo Griot Society, an Afro-Jazz Funk band from Chicago consisting of Thomas and Hank Drake. This is a nice album of Afro-beats, highlife, and primitive West African music. (Chee)
