A 1977 leader album by Italian jazz bassist Marcello Melis, known for his work in the free jazz scene alongside artists like Steve Lacy, Enrico Rava, and Mario Schiano. The album features a quartet with Enrico Rava (trumpet), Roswell Rudd (trombone), and Don Moye (drums), joined by the vocal quartet Gruppo Rubanu. While the entire album is outstanding, including jungle jazz tracks like A1 and B1 that resonate with the sounds of Don Cherry and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, the highlight is the pieces featuring Gruppo Rubanu's unique choral performances. Blending Sardinian traditional music from the Mediterranean island of Italy with primitive yet avant-garde expressions, this is a distinctive ethno-jazz masterpiece.
