An American jazz saxophonist, Marion Brown, who had a long and distinguished career from the 1960s to 2000, released this leader album on ECM in 1970. The tentet features an all-star lineup, including Anthony Braxton, Chick Corea, Andrew Cyrille, Benny Maupin, and Jeanne Lee. The A-side begins with a long introduction, where water sounds, played like an instrument, and various percussion instruments resonate like the sounds of nature, followed by saxophone and flute melodies that mimic the calls of birds and elephants. On the B-side, voice improvisations are interwoven with various natural scenes that unfold like a whirlwind, seemingly representing the workings of nature. Both sides, each over 17 minutes long, unfold a sonic world that encapsulates the universe, creating an awe-inspiring soundscape. This is a masterpiece of ethnic jazz from the early ECM catalog, a work that should also be highly regarded as modern music. It is the original German pressing of the 2nd edition, released the same year as the 1st edition. It appears that the same master plate was used for pressing as the 1st edition. The outer sleeve features spine text, "PRINTED IN GERMANY" markings, and no LC logo.
