This is the only analog release by Swiss guitarist Markus Plattner, a 1984 leader album made during his time with the group Jasata. It features Swiss jazz musicians such as Beat Wenger (sax), Beat Affolter (trumpet), Michel Poffet (bass), David Elias (drums), and Olivier Clerc (drums). Highlights include track A1, where light Brazilian rhythms blend with clean-tone guitar riffs and soft melodic leads, and track B3, where a relaxed waltz beat pairs beautifully with flowing guitar lines. This hidden gem showcases outstanding performances, spanning from crossover and contemporary jazz to free jazz, with an appeal similar to John Abercrombie’s work.
