This is a masterpiece piano solo album released in 1976 by Masahiko Sato, one of Japan's foremost jazz pianists who has been at the forefront of the music scene since his debut leader album "Palladium" in 1969. The album features six pieces of free music by piano solo, inspired by six pieces of calligraphy written by calligrapher Katsuhiko Sato and displayed on stage at Toho Seimei Hall in Tokyo. Each piece has a Buddhist title such as "Hajime", "Michi", "Kanjiza", "Jizo Bosatsu", "Shamisen" and "Hiten", and the free improvised performances are full of a deep spirituality that seems to penetrate the heart. This is one of Masahiko Sato's best piano solo works.
