Max Roach, who has been active since the 1940s and is known as one of the earliest bebop drummers, and Anthony Braxton, who has produced over 100 albums since the 1960s and plays a variety of reed instruments, released this album together in 1978. This album was released in 1978 on the Italian jazz label Black Saint, during the period when they were into free jazz with Archie Shepp and Cecil Taylor. Anthony Braxton's saxophone is amazing, and so is Max Roach's, who hits the beat with tremendous force.
