A solo album released in 1978 by the renowned American drummer Max Roach, who had been active since the bebop era of the 1950s and continued his diverse career through ethnic revivalist groups like the percussion ensemble M’Boom. This album was released exclusively in Japan as part of the <Baystate Jazz Series> from Baystate, a sub-label of RCA and Japan Victor, which collaborated to produce numerous unique projects. The entire album consists of drum solos by Roach, lacking overt ethnic influences but featuring superb performances that convey a primitive inclination at key moments through his transcendent and powerful drumming. It's a recording that allows you to immerse yourself completely. Fans of Toshio Kajiwara's work from the late 1970s to the early 1980s will also find this album intriguing. It can also serve as a DJ tool.
