This is the only album released by Meridan, a group of minor jazz musicians from Portland, USA, on their own label in 1987. The quartet consists of tenor saxophone, piano, bass, and drums, but none of the members have any notable history of activity, and only bassist Andre St. James seems to be still active professionally. Their style is baptized crossover/fusion by way of modal jazz, and they play urban music with a minor but grating effect.
