This is a leader album released in 1979 by American pianist Mickey Tucker, who has performed with groups such as James Moody, Roland Kirk, and Willis Jackson. The album features Frank Foster (ts, ss, ft), Cecil Bridgewater (tp), Pepper Adams (bs), Cecil McBee (b), Eddie Gladden (ds), Ray Mantilla (per), and Azzedin Weston (per). Standout tracks include the authentic Afro-Cuban jazz of A1, where light piano shines against the groovy Latin percussion beat and clear horn section hooks, and the mystical B1, where a gentle waltz beat and Latin feeling are exquisitely matched. The participation of Mantilla, a master of Latin percussion, and Weston, who has also excelled in George Adams' group, adds to the excellence of the tracks. McBee's bass is also a must-listen.
A1: Plagio
B1: Taurus Lullaby
