Mikio Masuda, whose groovy and melodic electric piano playing on "Mickey's Mouth" (East Wind, 1976) and "Moon Stone" (Better Days, 1978) is outstanding, released his fifth album on Electric Bird in 1979. The album was recorded in New York in 1978 and features the likes of Anthony Jackson (el-b), Bernard Purdie (ds) and Sammy Figueroa (perc). It features a groovy Latin fusion A1 with great arrangements, a light Brazilian fusion B1, and a funky and danceable reworking of a mellow number from Mickey's Mouth B2. Bernard Purdy's drumming and Anthony Jackson's bass work are really cool.
