This is a 1977 leader album by Miroslav Vitous, the highly skilled Czech jazz bassist who later joined Weather Report. Don Alias and Armen Halburian, two percussionists, participated, but all other performances are by Vitous himself. In addition to acoustic/electric bass, he also plays piano, electric piano, Mini-moog, and ARP string ensemble, and his synthesizer playing, in particular, is incredibly stunning. The album is a masterpiece of cosmic jazz, unfolding with aggressive soaring on A1, a driving Afro-Brazilian rhythm on A2, and a trippy groove with only percussion and synth on A3. It's truly amazing from start to finish. Original US pressing.

A2: Bassamba
A3: Tiger in the Rain
