This album, released in 1988, features Brazilian viola player Nando Carneiro, who recorded it alongside lead musician David Ganc and percussionist Mingo. Carneiro has also produced works under the label Carmo, led by Egberto Gismonti, and the American New Age label Windham Hills. In the 1990s, he was active as a member of the Egberto Gismonti Group, Trio, and A Barca Do Sol. The album begins with a beautiful ensemble of delicate viola arpeggios and mild percussion, transitioning into various developments with the introduction of light flute and synthesizer melodies, culminating emotionally in A2. Track B3 showcases earthy interactions between the wet rhythms of the tabla, floating flute, and acoustic guitar melodies. This work features a transparent acoustic ensemble, alongside experimental tracks that extensively incorporate electronics, showcasing an originality akin to Gismonti's. Highly recommended.
A2: Verao de 74
