Nightwind
a Casual Romance
Pausa Records (US) 1982
7127 (LP)
sleeve : EX(light scuff on corner)
media : EX-/EX(some places with slight dust noise, A: some places with light dust noise)
The 1982 debut album by Nightwind, an American fusion group formed around lead player/composer Charles Black, who played in Randy Crawford's backing band, and drummer Jeff Hull, who also participated in Chaka Khan's Japan tour. While it leans towards easy-listening light fusion, it contains some great tracks. Listen to A2, a cosmic crossover sound that is smooth yet spiritual, with Fender Rhodes electric piano and synthesizers like Arp Odyssey and Prophet 5 lightly layered over refreshing, light Brazilian rhythms. Also check out A3, a mellow jazz groove tune with restrained dynamics and an urban groove, reminiscent of Yuji Ohno. (Chee)
A2: Occasion
