This is the debut album released in 1982 by the American fusion group Nightwind, formed by lead saxophonist/composer Charles Black, who had played in Randy Crawford's backing band, along with drummer Jeff Hull, who had also participated in Chaka Kahn's Japan tour. The album leans towards a light fusion with an easy-listening taste, featuring a breezy Brazilian rhythm as a backdrop, complemented by Fender Rhodes electric piano, Arp Odyssey, Prophet 5, and other synthesizers smoothly topping the arrangements. Track A2 offers a cosmic crossover sound that is both elegant and imbued with a spiritual atmosphere, thanks to its refreshing and lively touch. Track A3, reminiscent of the mellow jazz groove that also resonates with the style of Yuji Ohno, grooves urbanely while maintaining a subdued intensity. Be sure to give it a listen.
