Orchestra Mladen Gutesha, led by former Bosnian composer/conductor Mladen Gutesha, who has also orchestrated for ECM artists such as Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and Egberto Gismonti. As the title suggests, the theme of this album is a big city. As the title suggests, the album contains songs based on the theme of a big city. The ensemble has an easy listening taste with an elegant string ensemble typical of an orchestra conductor, but the lead synthesizer and rhythm section have a very pleasant laid-back feel. This is an excellent performance reminiscent of Sony's Sound Image series with Haruomi Hosono and others, or Yuji Ohno and Silvetti. (Chee)
