This is an album released in 1980 by Pat Metheny, a well-known super guitarist. It was realized because of the desire to create a straight jazz piece with saxophone and other lead instruments, although it was already at a time when the group was working as the Pat Metheny Group. Members include good musicians Charlie Haden (b), Deway Redman (ts), Jack DeJohnette (ds), and Michael Brecker (ts). While sides A, B, and C are going to straight-ahead jazz, side D has the usual Metheny style in full swing, with Redman and Brecker's saxophones interplaying in a lyrical, extended, and lustrous tone in place of Lyre Mays' synthesizer. Haden's bass is also more emotional than ever. Original German pressing.
