This is the second album by the first Pat Metheny Group, led by Pat Metheny, one of the world's greatest guitarists, released on ECM in 1979. The members are Lyle Mays (keys), Mark Egan (b), and Dan Gottlieb (ds). It was recorded in the same year at Longview Farm in Missouri, said to be one of the most beautiful farms in the world. Pat Metheny himself produced it, with Manfred Eicher as executive producer. At this stage, his signature guitar synthesizer had not yet been introduced, and he played 6-string/12-string guitars, while Lyle Mays' Oberheim and autoharp provided the electronic sounds. The unique sound of the Pat Metheny Group can be enjoyed throughout this album, with a delicate and beautiful world of sound that sparkles as if brilliant sunlight is pouring down.
