This is the second album by the first Pat Metheny Group, one of the world's greatest guitarists, released on ECM in 1979. The group consisted of Lyle Mays (keys), Mark Egan (b) and Dan Gottlieb (ds). Recorded that year at Longview Farm in Missouri, one of the most beautiful farms in the world, the album was produced by Pat Metheny himself, with Manfred Eicher serving as executive producer. As of this recording, the quintessential guitar synthesizer has yet to be introduced, with six- and twelve-string guitars being played, while Lyle Mays' Oberheim and autoharp provide the electronic sounds. The sound of the Pat Metheny Group is as beautiful and detailed as the sun itself.
