An album released in 1977 by Paul Bley, one of Canada's leading jazz pianists, who has been active since the 1950s. He has participated in groups such as the Ornette Coleman Quartet and the Jazz Composer's Orchestra and has left numerous masterpieces with his own group. He is a central figure in the New York loft jazz scene. This album features live recording tracks from his 1976 visit to Japan with his trio, consisting of Gary Peacock (bass) and Barry Altschul (drums), where they performed at the Yamaha Nemunosato Jazz Festival. Using Yamaha grand and electric pianos, they deliver over 30 minutes of free improvisation. This remarkable performance showcases Bley's quintessential style, with expressive nuances and dynamic developments. You can hear Bley's characteristic phrasing throughout. This Japanese edition, with an obi, was released the same year as the US edition.
