This is an album released in 1973 from the Explorer series of the prestigious Nonesuch label in the U.S. It is a compilation of field recordings made at an esoteric Tibetan school. Recorded by David Lewiston, a British musician/journalist who has made numerous field recordings mainly in Asia, the album was recorded at a school in Gyuto Monastery, an esoteric Tibetan temple where students learn tantra. The second half of side B is cosmic. The quality of the recording is excellent, and you feel as if you were there.
