Roberto Cacciapaglia was born in Milan, Italy, and laid the foundations for composition and electronic music through his work at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan, directed by Bruno Bettinelli, RAI, the national television station in Milan, and the national research institute in Pisa. He was discovered by Rolf-Urlich Kaiser, the man behind the psychedelic sessions that included Timothy Really, Klaus Schulze and Manuel Gottsching, and released his first album in 1974. Since then, he has been a revolutionary creative force in the Italian contemporary music scene. This double album, released in 1986, pursued a minimalist contemporary style without the use of any electronics. Featuring an orchestra and a soprano singer, this is a great work of grand neo-classical music in the tradition of Italian opera, with extremely beautiful layers of melody that paint a lyrical landscape. The method is full of experimental spirit, and the minimalistic design.
