Italian composer/multi-instrumentalist Roberto Laneri released his second album in 1987, following the 1985 classic "Two Views of the Amazon", which was featured in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION". Focusing on the relationship between architecture and music, the album deconstructs and reconstructs contemporary Renaissance music from East and West using digital synthesizers and technology based on the theme of the Renaissance painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli. He also makes extensive use of the pentatonic scale to create electronic collage music with a strange sense of European yet somehow Eastern atmosphere.
