Ryuichi Sakamoto co-produced this album with Bill Laswell in 1987. The album features a variety of tracks, including A3, an urban dancer with a modern Balearic sensibility that layers Iggy Pop's sultry bass vocals and spoken word over a floating electronic beat and edgy arrangements, and B4, a beautiful instrumental track that beautifully combines the colours of Bill Laswell and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and of course the single-cut tracks, all of which feature exotic melodies using Okinawan folk music and other oriental scales, and cutting-edge electronics that are unique to the professor Sakamoto at this time.
