Shelley Hizsch, a voice performer from Brooklyn with whom Toshio Kajiwara aka Bing of Hitozoku Records toured live when he lived in New York. The album was released in 1989 with multi-instrumentalist David Weinstein, who is also a member of Elliot Sharp's group Carbon, and features David Weinstein's sampling, synthesizers, and scratching on a dramatic yet radical backing track. Shelley Hizsch's voice performance, which is at the cutting edge of the New York avant-garde, is so unpredictable that it is almost too much. The fact that it also tells a story is what makes it so great. Especially, the title track B1, which is over 17 minutes long, has the best delusional oriental feel. Highly recommended.
