This 3 x LP box set, released in 1975, contains music composed by Shinichi Matsushita, a world-renowned authority on topological analysis as a composer of contemporary music, a religious scholar, and even a mathematician, commissioned by Rissho Kosei-kai. The work is based on the <Three Parts of the Lotus Sutra>, a representative sutra of Mahayana Buddhism. Performed by Tokyo Kosei Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kazuo Yamada, with chorus by the Japan Chorus Association and gagaku music by the Japan Gagaku Orchestra, this magnificent picture scroll is composed of six chapters from "The Creation" to "The First Turning of the Wheel of the Law" and expresses the spectacle of the Lotus Sutra.
